ROADMAP

3–7 year permanent residency roadmap

Permanent residency turns on seven years of continuity. Keep what each year should leave behind, and year seven becomes a matter of tidying the file.

Year 1

Secure the first visa

Select the scheme and complete the first application, then establish a Hong Kong address and bank account straight away and begin MPF contribution records.

Years 2–3

First renewal

Verify employment and salary records, complete the first renewal and keep the period of residence continuous without interruption.

Years 4–5

Second renewal

Stabilise income and tax records, align dependant visa periods, and begin consolidating the supporting documents from earlier years.

Year 6

Full document review

Check the completeness of seven years of address, income, tax and MPF records item by item and repair any break.

Year 7

Submit the permanent residency application

Assemble and file the complete application package and follow it through until Hong Kong permanent resident status is granted.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I apply without a Hong Kong employer?
Yes — the route depends on your background. Highly qualified or high-income applicants can start with the Top Talent Pass Scheme; those with notable professional achievements can be assessed for the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme; and graduates of Hong Kong institutions can use IANG. We also draw on our 100+ partner employers to assess whether an employment relationship should be secured first.
My renewal was refused once. Can I apply again?
We would begin with a diagnosis of the refusal. In most cases the problem lies in the consistency of the supporting evidence — salary records that do not match MPF contributions, or an address history with a break in it. Identify the cause, close the gaps and resubmit, and the odds improve markedly.
Can I leave Hong Kong during the seven years?
"Ordinarily resident in Hong Kong" does not require you to remain in Hong Kong for the full seven years, but long or frequent absences can affect the continuity assessment. We build your travel plans into the strategy from the outset and advise which travel records to keep.
What are payroll and salary records, and are they compliant?
What we provide is salary structuring and payment arrangements built on a genuine employment relationship, creating verifiable income records that corroborate tax filings and MPF contributions. We do not provide false documents of any kind.
What do your services cost?
Fees depend on the scheme chosen, the scope of services and the timeline. At the assessment stage we give you an itemised quotation and a clear statement of service boundaries; once the agreement is signed, there are no additional charges.
Do you only serve clients in Shenzhen?
No. The company is registered in Shenzhen, but our clients come from across Mainland China and overseas. Document preparation and communication can be handled remotely, and meetings can be booked in person or online.
